Sam's Pool Hall was a hangout for the young adults in Herminie Pa. Sam's had pinball machines, pool tables and a roller skating rink up stairs. It was a place great to get hamburgers and milkshakes. Mrs Sam would make pizza on Saturday nights. It was legendary among Sam's patrons. I can remember cutting some Saturday night dates short just so I could get some of that pizza. It could get rowdy on occasion, but it was a great place for the young men (girls did not frequent Sam's) of this small coal mining town to hangout with their friends.
